Especially implementing an own raw character driver. Not applicable - My management made the decisionFree Electrons chosen by my managementDriver development - Make Linux support your new hardware, Build environment deployment and support, Investigating and fixing bugs

11/18/2011 13:10:5734The material is very good but its full potential is only available together with the explanations from the instructor. Unfortunately I have no idea how to improve this...5555555554575At the moment I don't have a special field of interest, I think it depends much on the hardware we are going to use in the future. Maybe a more hardware specific session would be could if we start working with a new device to get a quick start with it.5I really like the idea of combining lecture with an actual lab, this help to understand the material and to show that most of the things are not so difficult as they seem first. The part about the driver device model and implementation because it is a really long lecture and there are a lot of things which have to be used in the following lab, but I think there is no better way of doing it. Its hard to keep concentrated all the time...ColleagueColleagueNot interested

11/18/2011 13:14:5034555555;-)5;-)5It was an on-site training, so we could do the scheduling by ourselves.54It coherences with the necessary parts of the upcoming project.575A course which shows how to solve bugs by finding the causes in depth.5The Linux Kernel framework part on Thursday and of course to learn how to interact with the community.I have already done the tasks of the first day, but it was very important to repeat these things.Availability for on-site sessions, Trainer, Open training materials that can be checked in advance, Language, Videos from Embedded Linux ConferencePresentations in conferencesDriver development - Make Linux support your new hardware, Boot time reduction, Power management, Real-time: implementation and bug fixing, Build environment deployment and support, Root filesystem design and development, Technical support, Investigating and fixing bugs, Consulting in technology selection and methodology , On-site development, support and consulting services

11/18/2011 13:19:284Developing the serial driver from scratch:
I've no idea if it's possible to make the developing of the serial driver from scratch more understandable. Especially the coherence how to link all these different structures. Maybe the slides could show the same driver as developed or the instructor could write/show some diagrams that show the situation in the new developed driver.
4455555554456Was a good course and the instructor was very good.4User Applications, but not a whole week. I develop Linux user applications since one year, but I'm pretty sure that there is a lot things which I could make better.5The structure of the Linux kernel with it's modules and drivers. Not applicable - My management made the decisionFree Electrons chosen by my managementRoot filesystem design and development, user application development

11/18/2011 13:21:0234good overall, maybe a few things are missing or i did not find them. i.e. struct uart_ops composition4555443The usb-equipment hang a few times, but that may also be a xbuntu issue. i am not sure.
the usb-ethernet adapter sometimes hat latency of 3000ms. in a 2-participant-network that is really strange.
5the labs fitted perfectly between the lectures. 5we all learned a lot, regardless of previous linux-driver experience.5564i am not sure yet, which extra topic to chose.
* why is this field mandatory? ;)
4labs and kernel-code explanationOpen training materials that can be checked in advancelxr online reference - it's just great!Technical support

11/18/2011 13:26:273Just with respect to point 1, it would have been very usefull for me if there was a week between each day, so that i was possible to think about what i saw and heared. Due to my poor experience (just a few weeks yet) with Linux, i've learned much more than expected.2I can't answer this yet. It will show up in the next weeks when i try to review it on my own.455555554Same as above. It will show up the next weeks if i mention all that. 3Regrettably i don't work with Linux at the moment. But for myself at home i'm sure that it was very useful.565I really don't know yet.5Debugging, Architecture, Kernel initializationNot applicable - My management made the decisionFree Electrons chosen by my managementTechnical support, Investigating and fixing bugsThough i have poor knowledge on Linux i'm sure that i have lesrned pretty much.
