Obviously, the difficulty of the different practical labs depends a lot on the participants' prior knowledge (which of course you don't have any control over).
The Linux driver subsystem is a bit difficult to fully comprehend. The labs help a lot to get a better understanding of the subsystem through empirical exercises, but the course slides could be reworked a bit to be more pedagogical. In other words: without the trainer, it's pretty much impossible to understand the concepts (IMHO).
